Gustav Klimt (1862-1918) was one of the greatest Austrian painters of the Art Nouveau era. His works mainly consisted of paintings, murals and sketches. Klimt was characterised by his many erotic drawings and his main subject matter was female figures.

We have selected Gustav Klimt’s famous painting ‘The Kiss’ (1907-1908). Love, intimacy and sexuality are common themes in Gustav Klimt’s work. Klimt’s focus on romantic intimacy is evident in the kiss with the motif of the embracing couple.
